Party favors are the exciting part of the birthday preparation. Purchasing and gathering all the fun little toys and candy to toss together for the birthday celebration can be fun. First find a theme, second decide what kind of items you want to give out and third scout out a few stores to see what they have.
Make the favor worth it. Often kids are given little penny toys that break in seconds and the kids are disappointed. I like to give things that will last longer than a moment. This doesn’t have to mean that it needs to be expensive, just wise. A $1 bubble stick or a coloring book is not a lot of money but the kids can enjoy it for a bit. I often put the favors into a cool cup, which can be used several times following the party.
You can often find items in bulk allowing you to purchase more for less. Stores have several options in their party isles. Great stores to find party favors are: Target, Walmart, Dollar Stores and your local craft stores. Most of these stores have Dollar Sections, which have great options and ideas for party favors.
