Step One: Decorations. Decorate the dining room like a restaurant. Decide on a name and a theme for it, and just get creative! You can even create menus and name cards for your special patrons (see step four). If your kitchen is open to the dining room, consider slinging up a temporary curtain like a bed sheet or tablecloth so the chefs can work their magic behind the scenes and the patrons can feel like they’re in a real restaurant.
Step Two: The Chefs. Help your little chefs feel official by providing them with chef hats and aprons. If you get plain aprons, you could have the kids decorate them with fabric markers at the beginning of the party, before they start cooking.
